You'll have to all check back in Alyice's blog who started this whole thing. She's figured out a way to motivate herself by turning the miles she rides her bike into savings for a vacation -- a good idea that makes a stationary bike feel like you're actually going somewhere. :)

I am so in awe of you 10,000 Steppers! And combining it with reading the Bible online in 90 days while walking a treadmill is great! You guys will keep those devils away for sure! I am behind you guys all the way...

In my car.

I walk like, 342 steps per day, okay? I do get exercise and no, there's no equipment, just me, but the whole walking thing just...I don't know. I guess the junior devil would have a hey day with me.

Go, team, go!

This is encouraging--hubby wants to lose weight and I need exercise. If only moving my fingers on the keyboard counted!

Hi Heather! I discovered your blog and have been enjoying reading it the last few days!!

Just to share with you what I'm doing to get my *steps* in AND some Bible reading. I have wireless in my home so put a table leaf over the handles of my treadmill and set my laptop on top. I've started the Read the Bible in 90 days using the Message Bible online.

At 3.0mi/hr I get approx 1.5 miles in by the time I read the daily pages. I'm REALLY enjoying it. I generally continue to the 2 mi. mark. That's the ONLY way I can get my 10,000 steps in...treadmilling along with my daily routine.

I am also a Flylady! Although am flying many miles north of you in Fairbanks, Alaska. ALL my walking is done INdoors this time of year. Today it was -37 below! I'm not whining....nope nope nope!

Blessings!

A little advice: take a walk and count your steps. I had a pedometer that only caught about 1 in 3 steps unless I had it in the right place. I think I ended up putting in on my sock.

Oh no! I'm still dreaming big. You'll have to get it out of your desk drawer -- does it work for a bike?

I just got back inside from a rainy day walk -- instead of feeling dumpy and gray, I'm feeling pretty optimistic. I'm up to 7005 steps. My dog is surely wondering why I'm doing serpentines in the backyard. We'll see if I can keep this up.

I just had to laugh out loud at this post! Not because what you said was funny, but because last year, while living in Tennessee, my husband bought me a pedometer to track how many steps I walk. It was supposed to encourage me to get out the house more. Like you, I saw how little I walked when I was actually tired from a long day's work...guess where my pedometer is? Hidden in the back of my desk drawer, collecting dust, and crying to be set free!
